Gill. C North London
"I have been doing these wonderful classes for a couple of years now and still love every minute! Have learned a lot, had fun and made some good friends too. Would really recommend anyone keen to explore watercolour painting to sign up and have a go!
Cleo is a wonderful teacher and the classes are Incredibly supportive and a lot of fun."
Dianne . L - North London
“I have had many art classes over the years, and Art in the Village is by far the best! Cleo’s warmth, encouragement, and good humour allows for a friendly learning space. We try out different ideas and ways of working, and I feel encouraged to go beyond my usual style of working. The collage course with Martin was something new to try and I could feel the neural pathways in my brain going off in new directions. Always a good thing at any age!"
Sue . K - London
"It’s been a long time since I have picked up a paintbrush but since joining Cleo’s class I have learnt a lot of new techniques that are really exciting. Cleo has a lot of patience with her students that inspire risk taking and experiment which has been productive and fun.”
Gavin. B - Bounds Green
"This is the first brush I have had with Acrylics and I found this course to be excellent. The ideas were stimulating, the technical information just what I needed as a beginner and the feedback encouraging with plenty of ideas for taking work forward. Mark led the sessions with skill and created a very supportive environment for students to experiment. Another excellent course from Art in the Village!"
Ann Marie F - South London
"In every class, which are operating very successfully on-line, I learn so many new and exciting techniques, both in watercolour painting and in drawing. Cleo’s classes are brilliantly taught and at their heart is her promotion of the individual creativity of each of her students. "
Jane A - Wood Green
"After sampling many arts classes over the years, i have finally found a class for me. Cleo is able to bring out the best in each artist through her ability to apply alternative teaching methods which enable everyone to explore and experiment with their creativity. A thoroughly wonderful class and some wonderful people attending."
Tim . P - Muswell Hill
" Joined Cleo's class last term with my only previous experience of art being many decades ago at Primary School! It has been a rewarding and enjoyable experience with a real sense of Cleo cheerfully aiming to release creative aptitudes from all attending the course"
Teri W - Kings Langley Herts.
"I was reluctant to go to any art classes at first, having been rather put off it at school. However, encouraged by a friend, I joined Cleo's classes, and I'm so glad I did. Cleo creates a relaxed and positive environment, so that even as a complete novice I didn't feel intimidated. Instead, I was taught a variety techniques and styles, and encouraged to experiment with them enabling me to grow in confidence, skill and enjoyment. Thank you Cleo."
Art holiday testimonials
MARION. I - Germany:
"I went on 2 of Cleo's art holidays. Both were in beautiful surroundings with a stress-free, friendly atmosphere. Everything was well-organised but what made it special is Cleo's way of teaching: encouraging each to pursuit their own art journey.
One of my favourite memories of the Gozo Art Holiday is sitting on a balcony of a little café and drawing the idyllic valley below".
KATRINA. M - South West London:
"My daughter and I took part in the Swedish art holiday organised a few years back. We absolutely loved everything about it.
Cleo made everyone feel very welcome and immediately put the students at ease. Everyone in the class learned so much from Cleo, but also had a lot of fun.
Everything was organised for us; the travel, the amazing house, our meals. We all had a fantastic time."
CLARE D - Queens Park London:
"I went on Cleo’s Sweden art trip, one of the first she organised. She found a wonderful spot for us to stay by one of the (many) lakes in Sweden where we could find artistic inspiration looking out over the views of the lake and countryside. Cleo’s group sessions where fun and informative, my fellow class mates abilities ranged from beginners to pretty damned good, but we all learned something. The classes tended to be in the morning so she ensured that we also had plenty of time to do our own thing, be that painting, rowing on the lake or simply relaxing with a book. She also organised a trip into Stockholm for those who wanted to go. A memorable and fun holiday."
CARLO G - Oxford - U.K:
"Cleo's way of explaining art, colours, techniques was simply extraordinary. That holiday become a mix of learning, meeting new, wonderful people amongst an incredible, naturally exquisite island: Gozo.
Cleo's warmth, experience, vibrant intellect gave me and my younger daughter a unique holiday and we still talk about it: the magnet on our fridge a reminder.
Thank you Cleo! And whoever shall join you in Gozo or any of your classes, I am sure will have the same, enriching experience we had. "
