We have worked with a St Ives Cornish cottage company and sifted through hundreds of cottages - yes there are hundreds in St Ives - to find reasonably priced, cosy and very clean cottages with a bathroom for everyone! for your stay in during your Art holiday with us. We have chosen cottages that have great reviews and experienced owners too.
We have booked them all to be within a 10 - 12 minute walk's radius of each other and all are in the main hub of St Ives. We want you to fully experience the vibrancy of St Ives in September - not be on the outskirts and feel out of the loop. And of course, if you are coming on the Art holiday with your partner, we will ensure you are placed in a double room with a double bed.
We have reserved 4 x gorgeous cottages for sharing and where possible we will allocate separate cottages for couples. About 80% of the cottages have double beds in rooms, but just a few rooms have twin beds. We will of course prioritise couples having a double bed room. Everyone will get a bathroom each (although we can't guarantee these will all be ensuite - but we can guarantee there will always be a bathroom per person within any of the cottages. We suggest you maybe discuss your choice on who to stay with on the St Ives Holiday WhatsApp group which we will set up within the next few days.
Once you have paid your £770 Art holiday deposit then we can allocate your accommodation. We will send you a link to the cottages info and you can select your preference and we will allocate your choice of cottage where possible. It will be first come first serve for accommodation, but quite honestly all of the places we have booked are so lovely and we have chosen them all to be as equal as possible in charm, cleanliness and decor. You will be given the full address and you will make your own way to the accommodation from the train station.
However please note if you are driving to St Ives, driving cars in the town is not at all easy, so you will need to park up in the outskirts and walk ten to fifteen minutes to your accommodation. Make sure your suitcase has sturdy wheels! When you arrive at your accommodation, you will see on your table: instructions from the owner
a festival Guide
a Map
and a box of essentials for the house such as tea, coffee, milk, butter , bread
and cereal and a cheeky bottle of wine.
So, instead of racing around the shops as soon as you arrive, you can just unwind for a few hours before you join the group at the MERMAID restaurant on the quay for the best fish and chips in town! Situated in the heart of ‘Down-a-Long’, the old fishing quarter of St Ives, The Mermaid Seafood Restaurant is one of the town’s oldest and most popular family-owned and run restaurants. The restaurant is no more than a fifteen minute walk from any of the cottages. Everyone walks everywhere in St Ives - but be prepared for some steep hills now and then. (The 'Set Meal' of freshly cooked fish and chips with wine is included in your holiday price.) When we meet at the restaurant, Mark and Cleo will hand you an Art Holiday itinerary booklet which you can refer to during the week.
