We are very excited to announce a brand new Online collage course specialising in paper based Collage We are calling it “Coffee & Collage Online” which is an online version of the popular face to face collage course we run in Muswell Hill. This course focuses on making collage with a wide range of papers. Keeping it simple and easy to do at home. Beginners and improvers welcome!
This brand new and engaging, online paper based collage course is 3 x monthly classes from 4 pm to 6.430 pm and in it ,we will explore a wide range of paper based collage techniques via exercises using hand painted papers, colourful magazines, newspaper text, book text and tissue papers too. We will be focusing on collage in all three sessions and learn about this fascinating medium - including looking at brief slides on famous college artists too.
Examples of themes for our sessions are:
Mickalene Thomas inspired interiors Hannah Hoch inspired people David Hockney inspired Swim scenes Eric Ravillious inspired Landscapes Henri Rousseau inspired animals Alfred Wallis inspired seascapes and much more besides!
Materials are very cheap and easily available to you - so that keeps the cost right down. No expensive materials at all! All you need is paper, marker pens. maybe a few paint pens, a glue stick , scissors, and some magazines.
WHO ARE THE TUTORS? Cleo Harrington MA RCA OR Mark James MA RCA.
WHAT IS A CLASS LIKE? All tutors begin each workshop with an intro to the artist /subject /theme via a very brief online slideshow , which is usually followed by an easy warm- up exercise to loosen up. Then your tutor will do a demo and this is followed by students continuing independently for a while. The tutor will pause a few times to look at the work and give one to one feedback. The group will also feed back to you to. All feedback is supportive and friendly. We have a fantastic range of themes, with diverse subjects and techniques.
I AM A BEGINNER - CAN I JOIN? Yes you can! So come and join us - even if you think you can't create or don't know how to make a collage, we will support you and guide you through each session.

FEE: The fee is just £110 for all 3 x 2.45 hour sessions, which I hope you agree is great value! (And if you for any reason,you aren’t able to attend one of the 3 x classes within the term, we can credit you for 1 x of our other online courses instead. )
